Ensure socio economic development by creating entitlement through skill development, empowering by providing information & service support and safety net for the neglected. A large number of people in our society have no access to required food, health services, education, and basic rights and like other basic essentials. They are poor and underprivileged and the society itself is responsible for their situation. And such situation can be improved if they are provided required co-operations in the help. In this situation the Disabled Development Organization (DDO) had planned to cooperate with these poor and underprivileged peoples through providing them necessary supports and services by implementing projects and programs. Its target people are especially women and children of the low-caste vulnerable group. Main focus of works like:
GOAL OF DDO
The overall goal of the organization is to enjoy a society where every body will bear minimum human rights and could full-fill their basic needs by away of making them organized, self employment for poverty alleviation, implement solidarity and gender equity. Improvement of the overall socio-economic situation of the full-fill target.
Objectives of DDO
As per approved constitution objectives of the organizations are:
- Enabling target people through releasing intellectual power to combat illiteracy or ignorance including low level of consciousness and skills.
- Empowering them through releasing productive power to combat poverty and achieve food & nutritional security at family level.
- Releasing physical power to combat diseases and ill health.
- Facilitating them to release their institutional and social power to remove civic inertia.
- Releasing humanist power to protecting environment and conservation of natural resources and its wise uses.
OPERATIONAL AREA OF DDO
DDO is operating its major activities within 07 districts namely Jhenaidah, Magura, Rajbari, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Tangail, Rajshahi.
Sectors of involvement in the area
- Health Education, Nutrition & Family Planning Support.
- Basic Literacy Education support.
- Nursery, Tree Plantation & Climate Change.
- Institution building for establishing human rights and justice in the society;
- Training enhancing leadership, analytical & professional skills;
- Legal aid and support services in a limited scale;
- Community health and services for ensuring good health:
- Sanitation for DDO wing them undertaking preventive measures for diseases;
- A forestation for pollution free environment
- Environmental protection and development program for DDO them established & leave a better world for future generation.
- Gender based women development program & DDO them to established human rights.
- Advocacy and lobbying
- Vulnerable group development (VGD)
- Maternity Allowance.
Main objectives of the project are
- To provide Basic Literacy and Life Skills to 4.5 million illiterate adolescents and adults of 8-14 age group.
- To contribute in eradication of illiteracy from the country as well as achieving global and national EFA goals as envisaged in NPA-II and the Sixth Five Year Plan.
- To contribute in implementation of the National NFE Policy-2006 and the National Education Policy 2010
- To strengthen the capacity of BNFE and other agencies involved in non-formal education.
- To promote GO-NGO and community collaboration in NFE.
SCOPE OF SERICES
DDO have to render following services for significant program achievement in the field of Basic Literacy Project
- To co-ordinate with local administration, local government institutions NGOs. CBOs services providers, strike holder and community people for successfully implementation of project.
- To conduct the baseline survey, identify learners and center establishment in cooperation with DC, UNO and DBNFE, local government institutions and communities etc.
- As per the baseline survey report and in consultation with UNFEC and Union Literacy Committee, the INGO will form CMC at each center,
- To recruit teachers and supervisor in coordination with UNO/DBNF.
- To facilitate foundation training of teachers and supervisors.
- To attend monthly UNFEC meeting.
- To conduct regularly monitoring and evaluation.
- To co-operate DC, UNO, DBNF and UPOs to organize social mobilization, advocacy, dissemination training, Seminars/workshops and orientation etc at field level.
- To ensure regular meeting of ULC and CMC in coordination with UNO and UPOs,
- To organization monthly refresher training with teachers and supervisor.
- To prepare monthly progress / monthly monitoring report.
- To analyses the progress report collected from supervisor and take necessary corrective action,
- To prepare and timely submit statement of expenditure (SOE) to UNO.
- To DDO formation of Upazila Assessment Committee to asses the learner’s achievement.
- To collect/prepare/procure necessary materials for Learning Center, To ensure community contribute in establishing Learning Center.
- To ensure distribution of materials for center and learners timely,
- To ensure quality teaching learning process by teachers.
- To ensure role and responsibility of teacher and supervisor,
- To ensure the attendance of learners.
- To ensure community participation and social mobilization in co-ordination with DC, UNO, DBNFE, local government institutions and other strike holders.
- To take supportive action for improvement whenever raise administrative issues and discuss at monthly DNFEC/UNFEC/ULC/CMC meeting and collecting monitoring report from the regularly and send to UNO, DC and DNFE.
